Neil & Leslie Sorsdahl welcome you to the Golden Divot Bed and Breakfast. Neil, a retired Naval Officer, was the last Commanding Officer of HMCS Saskatchewan (the world’s largest artificial diving reef), located right here in Nanaimo BC, Canada.
Neil’s last four years in the Navy were in a NATO position in England where he and Leslie hosted guests from all over the world. While in the UK, Neil qualified as an EGTF Teaching Professional and worked with the English PGA Pro Ian Godleman for 8 years teaching at his winter golf school in Algarve, Portugal.
Leslie is renowned for her fine cuisine, culinary skills, and special talent for welcoming guests and making them feel at home. No one ever goes hungry at the Golden Divot B&B.
The Golden Divot owes its roots to both seafaring and golf. For Sailors, “searching for the Golden Rivet” was always a good excuse to take lady guests on a tour of their ship. Of course, the Divot is the well-known golfing term for that piece of turf taken by the golfer when hitting the ball.
As a retired Naval Officer, the name Golden Divot B&B well represents the lifestyle of your host: playing and teaching golf in his retirement (golden) years; sharing good times with guests.
